Video Inspections (CCTV)

Remote Examination in Real Time

Our closed-circuit television (CCTV) units are fully equipped with state-of-the-art pan and tilt (P&T) video camera equipment used for mainline sewer inspection, and proprietary computer hardware and software to facilitate data acquisition.

Our trained certified operators can inspect and evaluate the condition of a pipe in real-time, via on-board flat screen monitors, and according to such evaluation standards as: WRC, CAPC, NASSCO and CERIU. We note defects and general observations on the video. We then generate a digitally formatted full-scale inspection report that is based on our observations and later reviewed by technicians at our headquarters.

Sewer Lateral CCTV Inspection from Main Sewer

CWW is proud to be among the few Canadian companies offering lateral and mainline probing (LAMP™). LAMP II™ is used to identify compromising sewer pipe infiltration and inflow, solids accumulation, root infiltration, pipe defects, and the structural condition of lateral services and mainline sewers.

Self-propelled, LAMP II™ provides a one-pass P&T inspection of mainline sewer pipe with diameters between six and 24 inches, with simultaneous inspection of the adjacent lateral services up to 120 feet. Equipped with two high-resolution cameras, the LAMP II™ picture-in-picture feature enables CWW’s operator to monitor the P&T inspection of the mainline pipe and launch a second P&T camera from the mainline to inspect the adjacent lateral service.

LAMP II™ is also used in the horizontal boring industry for precise locating of lateral services, which avoids costly damages to the existing sewer infrastructure during the boring process. LAMP II™ is also used to verify the quality of rehabilitation processes such as lateral and mainline relining and spot repair. CWW’s LAMP II™ system can be mounted in a truck or retrofitted to most existing truck mounted CCTV systems.

Robotic Cutting

Our robotic cutting units are equipped with state-of-the-art, German-engineered SCHWALM robot systems and can operate in pipes with diameters between 150 mm and 600 mm. The SCHWALM robotic cutter is the most advanced, fastest, most efficient and reliable self-driven robotic cutter in the trenchless technology market today.

Our other underground infrastructure services include:

  • CCTV pipe inspection
  • cutting, grinding and chiseling penetrating objects
  • reinstating lateral connections in CIPP liners
  • installing CIPP spot repairs
  • installing CIPP lateral connection liners
