Clean Water Works offers residential and commercial septic tank and holding tank pumping services, filter cleaning and power flushing. However, we do not sell any parts or provide any installations.
We dispose of all collected waste at licensed treatment facilities in compliance with our MOE permits. This eliminates liability for our clients.
Proper septic tank maintenance tips:
- Pump every three to five years.
- Proper usage prompts long life span of systems.
- Septic systems cannot digest oils, greases or fats that may be poured down the sink or toilet. Also, no paint or solvents.
- Flush only toilet paper. No wipes, sanitary napkins, Kleenex, paper towels, etc.
- Regular maintenance and moderate water use will help prolong the life of your septic system.
- A tap leaking one drop per second wastes about 10,000 litres of water per year. A leaking toilet can waste up to 20 times that amount. Saving water starts with stopping the drips.
- Don’t drive cars, trucks or heavy machinery over your drain field. You could crush it or compact the soil around your pipes.
- Planting trees and shrubs near your drain field is risky. Roots can plug or damage your pipes.

Signs of an ailing septic system include:
- Grass over the drain field may become unusually green or spongy to walk on.
- Toilets, showers and sinks may take longer to drain.
- Sewage odours may become noticeable, especially after a rainfall.
- Gray or black liquids collect over drain field.
- If something doesn’t break down naturally, don’t flush it into your septic tank.
